#HYHRD: Show me the money! Ex-dividend and dividend pay dates & amounts as of 4/9

These are the upcoming expected dividend pay dates and amount(s) expected from each stock.

These amounts are a compilation from all of our accounts, so some is taxable, some is tax-deferred, and some is tax-free. If you check out my Expected dividend spreadsheets you can see how it all breaks down, or you could just read my posts and look at the screenshots (ooooh, pretty pictures!).

Speaking of pretty pictures, here’s the most recent and pertinent dates spreadsheet (from my Expected Dividends workbook), and following that is the brand new! graph of monthly dividends since inception as found on my Dividends Received page on my blog;

    Amounts shown above are total projected expected dividends, and are believed fairly accurate. Based on dividends declared, I have projected an expected total of $4,440.92 in April, $947.14 in May, $328.12 in June, $0.00 in July, $0.00 in August, $0.00 in September, $0.00 in October, $0.00 in November, and $0.00 in December, so far.

    These are the total amounts predicted for each account this month by the TDM program at the end of each week;

    • ind-PandA $200.70
    • IRA-A $0.00 (Since there are no positions, no further dividends are expected.)
    • IRA-P $158.71
    • Roth-A $2,420.96
    • Roth-P $1,742.65

    The above amounts are subject to change due to sales/acquisitions of shares during the month and new dividend declarations/increases/reductions, etc.

    I now expect to end 2016 with over $23,159.00 for the year, which is lower than the 2015 total of $29,304.25 by over $6,145.25. (I will project these amounts the beginning and end of; April, July, October, and November, and I’ll keep it updated through December.)

    Note: For April; At the beginning of the month I will simply divide the previous 3 month’s dividends by 3 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12. At the end of the month I will simply divide the current YTD dividends by 4 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12.

    • Beginning of the month result;
      • $23,159.00
    • End of the month result;

    Note: For July; At the beginning of the month I will simply divide the previous 6 month’s dividends by 6 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12. At the end of the month I will simply divide the current YTD dividends by 7 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12.

    • Beginning of the month result;
    • End of the month result;

    Note: For October; At the beginning of the month I will simply divide the previous 9 month’s dividends by 9 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12. At the end of the month I will simply divide the current YTD dividends by 10 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12.

    • Beginning of the month result;
    • End of the month result;

    Note: For November; At the beginning of the month I will simply use last month’s end of month result. At the end of the month I will simply divide the current YTD dividends by 11 to get a monthly average, then multiply the result by 12.

    • Beginning of the month result;
    • End of the month result;

    Note: For December; At the beginning of the month I will simply use last month’s end of month result. Throughout the month I will simply divide the current YTD dividends by 12 each week to get a ~monthly average, then multiply the result by 12.

    • Beginning of the month result;
    • End of the month result;

    The 2015 total of $29,054.25 is higher than the 2014 total of $26,910.38 by $2,243.87, which is higher than the 2013 total of $25,265.76 by $1,644.62, and is almost double my first year total of $14,146.33 for 2012, which is when I first transitioned to dividend investing for income.

    NOTE: AI reclassified all 2014 & 2015 dividends as a return of capital.

    Dividend paying stocks that I hold pay mostly quarterly or monthly dividends. I hold one annual and one semi-annual paying dividend stock. What this means is that while some stocks provide a steady monthly income for each of the 12 months in a year, some only pay 4 times each year, one pays twice a year, and one pays only once a year. This should result in roughly 2 months of ‘slightly lower’ dividend payments, followed by one month of ‘substantially higher’ dividend payments, repeated four times each year. That’s in theory, only. Also, in theory, the ‘big month’ payments are usually January, April, July, and October (JAJO).

    In reality; ARRPRB pays every month. AI, ARIPRA, CLNYPRC, NYMT, and RSOPRB (only July and October) pay in January, April, July, and October. CALM, CNSL, CPB, DRAD, EBF, GSB, HTBK, RSOPRB (only February and May), and TOOPRA pay in February, May, August, and November. BGCP, NPK (only March), ORI, and UFPI (only June & December) pay in March, June, September, and December. Data is based on TTM dividend payment dates, and will probably change in the future (AGNC recently changed from paying a quarterly dividend to paying a monthly dividend, and PGH recently changed from paying a monthly dividend to paying a quarterly dividend with a HUGE (83.33%!!!) decrease from their previous 50% decrease (C$0.48 annually to C$0.24 annually and now to C$0.04 annually!). They have since suspended paying a dividend entirely). Confusing? You betcha! But, that’s what makes it fun, right?
