I’m Pat Rosenheim, a.k.a. the PandA Trader.
Undeterred, I continued and managed to chart them all and decided to post a linkfest. Each link will open in a new window and from there I suggest you right-click on “200 days” in the slider at the bottom of the chart. You can select different time period pre-sets, and I find that “past year” and “all” provide the best look(s) at Total Performance (appreciation plus dividends). If you double-click on “200” you can then edit and type whatever number pleases your majesty, but the chart will default to the limits of the symbols being charted.
Here, then, are the links. I’ve put the top ten based on “all” time period together as well, although that time period in these groups is shorter than I like;
Group with the symbol with the highest Total Performance (161.48% for $NEWT)
Group with the symbol with the 2nd highest Total Performance (158.29% for $SAR)
Group with the symbol with the 3rd highest Total Performance (89.92% for $GAIN)
Group with the symbol with the 4th highest Total Performance (78.08% for $TSLX)
Group with the symbol with the 5th highest Total Performance (44.19% for $CSWC)
Here’s a link to the 200 day chart for the BDCs in the title.
Play around with the charts, look at different time periods. The 200 day is fairly important, IMO. A common addition to most candlestick charts is the 200 day moving average. I think it’s a good place to start.
I hope this helps, and I hope it makes you think; Different time periods, Total Performance, etc.
For those that were wondering, PSEC (with dividends) was; -22.25% on the 200 day chart, -6.54% on the 1 year chart, & 19.72% on the ‘all’ time period (in the group chart – chart it alone and see what happens to the “all” time period, which is closer to what I like to see when I’m charting the “all” time period).

PLEASE TAKE NOTE AND REMEMBER THIS!
I’m not telling anyone to buy anything or giving anyone any advice, because that’s illegal. You see, I have no letters after my name, like RIA, CFA, etc. I SIMPLY DO NOT GIVE ADVICE. I only tell (and show!) what I do. You, like me, are all alone in this.
And remember, always do your own due diligence!
